Welcome to Toby Bear’s Termly University of Warwick Archery Club Head to Head Challenge Ladder.
Rules for the experienced ladder:
- This term each head to head must be shot on two sets of hit and miss discs (one set per archer).
- The round consists of 24 arrows, shot in ends of 3.
- One end of sighters may be shot before scoring begins.
- One arrow is shot at each disc, if two arrows hit the same disc, this only counts as one hit.
- Each hit is worth 1 point and misses are worth 0.
- If there is a tie after 24 arrows, the head to head will be decided on a single arrow.
- You can shoot a maximum of three head to heads in one week.
- To keep your place in the ladder you must shoot at least one head to head every three weeks, anyone who fails to do this will be relegated to the bottom.
- Initial ladder rankings are based on Portsmouth personal bests.
- You can challenge anyone up to 5 places above you, e.g. the person in sixth position can challenge for second place but not for first.
- If you challenge for a position and win, then you move to that position, and the archers below will slide down. e.g. if you win a challenge for first position from fifth, then the person in first place would slide into second, the second into third etc.
- If you would like to join the ladder once it has started you are welcome to do so, but you will be added on at the bottom of the table.
- Scores must be submitted to the Records officer at the end of the session at which the head to head was shot.
Novice Ladder Rules:
- This term each head to head shot must be shot at 20 yards on a Portsmouth Face.
- The round consists of 12 arrows each, shot in ends of 3.
- If there is a tie after 12 arrows, then the head to head must be decided on a one arrow pass, highest scoring arrow being the winner.
- You can shoot a maximum of three head to heads in a week.
- To stay in the ladder you must shoot at least one head to head every three weeks.
- Initial ladder rankings will be based on Portsmouth personal best.
- You can challenge anyone up to 5 places above you e.g. the person in sixth can challenge for second place but not first.
